Summer and Winter Junior Centres for Kids and Teens in Canada and United States
Tamwood Junior Centres was founded in Whistler in 1992 by Matt Collingwood and Tamsin Plaxton. Combining their experiences of attending and working at international summer programs with their passion for globalization they have created a highly regarded and professionally managed junior summer centre company. Tamwood operates five summer locations and one winter location across North America: Vancouver-Downtown, Vancouver-Simon Fraser University, Whistler, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Boston. Tamwood is a privately owned company and Matt and Tamsin are still actively involved in the daily camp operations to ensure that Tamwood students get the best education and care in the safest possible environment.
At a Tamwood, your child will study improve his or her English skills through 15 hours per week of classroom lessons. Outside the classroom they will be busy making friends from around the world and try exciting activities and adventures. Spending time at a Tamwood centre will also allow your child to grow as an individual, learn valuable life skills, expand their sense of adventure and learn about the world.
