Being a Tamwood student helps me communicate across language and culture. I had a hard time to express myself when I first arrived in Canada. I only used vocabulary to communicate with others. At the time, my classmates and teachers were kind to help and encourage me. It was a valuable time to learn about different cultures from all over the world. Sometimes, it was hard to say good bye to close friends, but I always make new friends. Every morning, I am looks forward to going to school. 한국을 떠나 여행이 아닌 타국에서의 공부를 결정한 후 내가 오게 된 곳이 바로 캐나다 탬우드이다. 언어와 문화의 차이로 걱정이 많았던 내게 탬우드라는 학교는 그런 문제들을 깨끗히 씻어 주는 곳이였다. 나의 의사 표현조차 제대로 표현하기 힘들었던 처음, 짧은 단어들로 나열하는 대화밖에 할 수 없었고, 그때마다 친절한 친구들과 선생님들이 많은 도움을 주었다. 그들의 도움으로 인해 이제는 장난도 치고 웃고 떠들며, 잘 적응해 나갈 수 있었던 것 같다. 가족같은 분위기의 학교 속에서 다양한 국적의 친구들과 어울리면서 그들의 문화 또한 배울 수 있는 소중한 시간들이었다.

I have finished my third year of university in Korea and I have been here for three months. TAMWOOD is not such a big school but I have had great opportunities to make many friends from all over the world. It also provides me high quality programs and good activities. I am taking the English Co-op program at Tamwood. Based on what I learn from school, I use and expand my English skills through my work place, where I meet English speaking customers and co-workers. All of the teachers are so kind and friendly to students in Tamwood.Studying at Tamwood provides great opportunities to meet great teachers, participate in various activities, and meet friends from all around the world. As a medium size school one can meet practically all the other students and the relationship with the teachers is really close. Everyday we have different extracurricular options so we can combine our studies with fun activities in a great way. I also believe that the location is excellent because it’s located in the downtown. If you want to know a bit more about Tamwood, don’t hesitate to write me an email and I will be pleased to answer you. Estoy seguro que haber elegido Tamwood fue la mejor desicion. Al no ser una escuela tan grande uno puede conocer practicamente a todos los estudiantes y la relacion con los profesores es muy cercana. Todos los dias se realizan diversas actividades, por lo cual uno puede combinar estudio con diversion de muy buena manera. Tambien creo que la ubicacion que tiene es excelente ya q se encuentra en el centro de la cuidad. When you start to study and to learn English, to know people worldwide, in a so familiar atmosphere, so professional and so friendly, created by Tamwood. You feel yourself alive. Adding to this, the incredible City of Vancouver does of this experience something more wonderful. I am living it at the moment and I wish this would like to last forever. I would like that everything starts again. Finalmente tuve la oportunidad de ir al extranjero a estudiar inglés, por cuestiones del destino llegue a Tamwood. Cuando uno llega, comienza a estudiar y a aprender ingles, a conocer gente de todo el mundo, en un ambiente tan familiar, tan profesional y tan unido, creado por Tamwood…Vives. Sumando a esto, la increíble Ciudad de Vancouver hace de esta experiencia algo aún más maravilloso. Yo lo estoy viviendo en estos momentos y no quisiera que terminara nunca. Me gustaría que todo volviera a empezar.

Here I found an extraordinaire atmosphere because all the staff is very kind and funny, so is easy to feel like home. Moreover, it’s possible to meet people from all over the world which is very interesting because you can practice your listen with people who have different accents and you can learn more about the other’s culture. I like Tamwood a lot, not only because the English classes or the activities that you can do with the students and teachers (everyday there is something different to do) but because they offer something that others schools don’t have; the opportunity to learn English working in your area (internship) or in another kind of commercial place (work-program). I’ve been here for three months and I have more three here in Vancouver because I’ll start to work in an ice cream store. So if you have some doubt or curiosity about the school just let me know and we can talk about it Tamwood foi a melhor escolha que eu poderia ter feito. Aqui eu encontrei um ambiente muito agradavel, porque o staff é muito solicito e engraçado e se torna mais fácil se sentir em casa. Além do mais é possível conhecer pessoas do mundo inteiro o que é muito interessante, porque você pode praticar Inglês com pessoas que tem diferentes sotaques e aprender um pouco mais sobre a cultura de cada um. Eu gosto da Tamwood nao só por causa das aulas de Inglês ou das atividades que você pode fazer com outros estudantes e professores (todo dia tem uma atividade diferente), mas porque eles oferecem algo que as outras escolas não oferecem; a oportunidade de aprender Inglês trabalhando na sua área de atuação (Internship) ou em outro tipo de trabalho (work-program). Eu estou aqui há três meses e vou ficar durante mais três, porque vou começar a trabalhar em uma sorveteria. Portanto se você tiver alguma dúvida ou curiosidade sobre a escola me avisa e podemos conversar.

I liked the place, the teachers, the staff, everyone is very nice. And you can meet people from all over the world and make a lot of friends. Studying at Tamwood was the best decision I could have taken. I'm very happy and I'll never forget my experience here. Escogí Tamwood porque lo vi interesante, pero cuando llegué no solo fue interesante, sino increíble. Me gustó mucho el lugar, los profesores, el staff, todos son muy lindos. Y aquí puedes conocer gente de todo el mundo y hacer muchos amigos. Estudiar en Tamwood fue la mejor decisión que pude tomar. Estoy muy contenta y nunca olvidaré mi experiencia aquí.

Tamwood you fell like you are at home, like a big family. The classes are fun and interesting, it is not full of students which is the best to learn the English and the same time be in touch with all the students. More than just learn English, I learned things that I will take for the rest of my life. The experience that i had here was increadible. I could learn differents things from many countries with my foreing friends. I'm really happy to be part of such nice school.

Classes are small, set up according to your level, but very much catered to your specific needs. And there are classes for all ages. My daughter Sofia did a Winter course in January, loved it and made loads of friends. I just had a crash course with great exposure to different areas of knowledge and current affairs, set up specifically to my needs by excellent teacher Sacha. I highly recommend Tamwood. As turmas são pequenas, formadas de acordo com o seu nível, porém ajustadas de acordo com as suas necessidades especificas. E também são oferecidas classes para todas as idades. Minha filha Sofia fez um curso de Inverno em Janeiro, amou e fez muitos amigos, e eu acabo de fazer um curso de imersão, feito sob encomenda, onde fui exposta a vários níveis de conhecimento e atualidades, preparado pelo excelente Prof. Sacha. Year: 2007 Campus: Vancouver Course: Semi Intensive & CWE Country: Japan Email: chloe.yukiko.paradiso@hotmail.co.jp Comments: TAMWOODでの経験を通して 河野ゆき子 カナダで唯一、ケンブリッジ大学からのCertificateが取得できるケンブリッジ認定就労体験コース（Cambridge Work Experience Program）を通して、サマーキャンプのカウンセラーなど、日本では決してできない貴重な経験を数多くすることができました。サマーキャンプでは、世界中の様々な国から来た子供たちを世話する中で、カヤックやロッククライミングなどウィスラーの大自然を思う存分に満喫しました。ＴＡＭＷＯＯＤの大きな特色は、多国籍な生徒層だと思います。クラスは常に活気に溢れ、英語でのコミュニケーション能力を高めると共に、様々な国の価値観を身に付け、そして掛け替えのない友人を得ることができました。

Year: 2007 Campus: Vancouver Course: Semi Intensive & CWE Country: Japan Email: nov0424@yahoo.co.jp Comments: TAMWOODでの経験を通して 中川 伸昭 僕はバンクーバー校に１２週間（５月から７月）ウィスラー校に４週間（８月から９月）通ってました。 ぶっちゃけ他校と比べると授業料は高いですが、その分、他校と比べて日本人（アジアン）の割合は少ないです。僕が居た一番下の会話クラスは半分以上が日本人と韓国人でしたけど・・・。でも、レベルが１個上がった時のクラスメイトは日本人は僕だけでした。半分以上がヨーロッパ人と南米人でした。 英語を話すには最適な環境でした。一切、日本語は通じなかったので。（校内はENGLISH ONLYです。） ウィスラー校に居た時は学校に日本人は僕しか居ませんでした。 卒業後、さらに英語力を高めるために飲食以外でENGLISH SPEAKERと接客をする仕事に就きたくて RESUME（履歴書）とCOVER LETTER（職業履歴）を作りました。 その時、先生やカウンセラーを捕まえて、何度も作り直しました。親身になって協力してくれました。 そのRESUMEとCOVER LETTERのおかげで今の仕事に就けました。 今はWhistlerのレンタルスキー屋さんで働いています。同僚はもちろん、ほとんどがENGLISH SPEAKERです。カナディアンだけでなく、ブリティッシュやオージーも居ます。 お客さんも北米№1のウィンターリゾート地ウィスラーなので、カナディアンだけでなく、世界中からお客さんも来ます。運がいいのか悪いのかわかりませんが、僕の働いているお店には日本人のお客さんは月に一人来るか来ないかです。 リアルで毎日英語漬けの生活を送っています。

Year: 2007 Campus: Vancouver & Whistler Country: Japan Email: hiroki711@hotmail.com Comments: 星宏樹 カナダに留学することまでは決めたけれどもまだどこの学校にいくべきか悩んでいるときに知り合いでエージェントの仕事をしている方から「勉強もできて、インターンシップの紹介もしてくれる学校」として紹介されたことがきっかけでTamwoodに入学しました。学校はとても暖かく家族のような雰囲気の中で勉強できました。 自分は１０週間学校で勉強をした後さらに１０週間"Cambridge Work Program"を使い証券会社でインターンをしました。金融に興味がわき始め、就職活動を控えていた時期だったので今後の判断基準になればという思いもあってスタッフの方には金融関係の仕事と希望を出していたのですが、まさにドンピシャの証券会社でインターンをすることができたのはとても幸運だったと思います。これはスタッフの方々が毎日時間をかけて生徒一人ひとりのリクエストにマッチするインターンシップを探しているおかげだと思います。 インターンシップではボスの指示の下で指導を受けながら実際にチームの一員として働かせていただきました。１０週間という限られた時間の中でしたがとても濃密で充実した時間がすごせたと思います。ボスは平日だけでなく休日もドライブやバーベキューに自分を連れて行ってくれましたし、仕事も発見や新しい知識の吸収の連続でとても刺激的で、特に自分が書いたレポートを基にした商品がお客様に紹介されることになったときは何よりもうれしい瞬間でした。今後自分は金業界を目指して行くつもりです。 もしも何か自分に手伝えることがあるのであればどうぞ何でも聞いてください。

Estou na Tamwood assistindo aulas de gramatica e convercacao e fazendo o estagio em minha area de atuacao. Alem de aprender ingles estou tendo a oportunidade de viver uma experiencia de trabalho no Canada. Tenho me divertido como nunca pois alem de fazer contato com pessoas do mundo todo faco passeios incriveis conhecendo todo o local.

Tamwood is not such a big school, about 170 students, so that helps us to have good relationships with teachers and friends. Most of the teachers are so kind and humorous. Therefore, I feel like the teachers are my friends and we enjoy many activities together. Moreover, we have many friends who are from other countries. I have many friends who are from Germany, Switzerland, France, Ecuador, Mexico, Brazil, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, Venezuela etc. You can make many foreign friends and experience the cultures of other countries if you study at Tamwood. Do you like soccer? If you like soccer, you can make many friends easily because Tamwood has a great soccer team. I enjoy playing soccer with many students and teachers. Tamwood's soccer team won first place in the latest league. These are some of the many good things that I want to tell you. Have you ever thought about choosing Tamwood as your language school? If you have, don't hesitate to make it your choice. Many good friends and great teachers are waiting for you.

I met many foreign friends from Japan, Europe, Mexico, etc. If you go to other ESL schools, you can usually meet only Korean and Japanese students. I have also been playing soccer for the Tamwood soccer team for three months. If you like to play soccer, you should come here to play!!! We are the best soccer team in Vancouver. I want to see you at Tamwood soon.

Estudiar en Tamwood me ayudo a cumplir el objetivo de mejorar notablemente mi ingles y el hecho de tener amigos de todo el mundo y el haberme divertido tanto en Canadá hicieron de este lugar uno mis mejores recuerdos de toda mi vida. No solo aprendes o perfeccionas tu inglés sino que tienes la oportunidad de conocer a gente de otros países del mundo. Compartes ideas y aprendes sobre diferentes culturas. Además tienes cerca muchos lugares para visitar y sobre todo actividades por hacer. Todo en esta gran ciudad "Vancouver". Uno de los cursos que tome fue Business English y me ayudo a perder la inseguridad de hablar ingles frente a otras personas, además de que aprendes palabras clave utilizadas en los negocios.

Es decir, desarrollar las destrezas necesarias para poder retener y usar, acertadamente, las reglas gramaticales. Y si ese aprendizaje viene acompañado de profesores calificados, amigos extraordinarios y un ambiente propicio para explotar esas destrezas adquiridas, entonces el proceso se convierte en exitoso. Y precisamente, Tamwood International College ofrece ese tipo de aprendizaje. Tamwood propicia la posibilidad de incrementar constantemente, mediante tus propios ejemplos y realidades, tus conocimientos (muchos o pocos) sobre inglés.
