Teen Summer Camp – Social Impact Project

Now more than ever it’s vital that teens gain a better understanding of the local and global communities and their place in them. This program helps guide students to make informed, meaningful decisions and encourages them to care more for the future of our communities. The Social Responsibility Project is a Tamwood designed program, based at Tamwood Vancouver and Montreal Summer Camp, designed to offer integrated learning opportunities for youth aged 15 to 17.

The Social Responsibility program is intended to share with youth how everyone can take part to make this a better world. The program will take a closer look at the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS), and see how these issues affect Canada and their country.

As part of Tamwood’s discovery learning module, students are asked to focus on one of the issues and get involved with a social project of their preference and see how they can begin making a difference. Students will learn what it means to be a global citizen, not just by travelling abroad, but by stepping out of their comfort zone, engaging in meaningful conversations and being immersed in new cultures.

This program is the perfect way for teenagers to expand their worldview and help others at the same time. The program combines a call to action and language immersion. We will incorporate discovery learning for our students that involves personal reflection, practical skills, and social engagement to offer a truly enriching experience.
