Study at Tamwood and Transfer up to 30 Tamwood credits to Capilano University
Capilano University (“CapU”) is a public university with a campus in North Vancouver. International students completing programs at CapU are eligible for a Post-Graduate Work Permit. Tamwood’s Academic Pathways to Capilano University allow students to complete a Tamwood Diploma or Certificate program and gain admission with advanced standing to CapU. Students can then transfer their Tamwood credits to reduce their course load, study time and fees for study at CapU.

Academic Pathways Options
Tamwood students can transfer their Tamwood credits to Capilano University into their Hospitality or Business programs.
CapU School of Tourism Management
Tourism Management Co-operative Education Diploma: up to 24 credits for graduates of Tamwood’s Hospitality and Tourism programs.
Bachelor of Tourism Management: up to 24 credits for graduates of Tamwood’s Hospitality and Tourism programs.
CapU School of Business
Business Administration Diploma: up to 27 credits for graduates of Tamwood’s Business or Global Startup School programs.
Bachelor of Business Administration: up to 30 credits for graduates of Tamwood’s Business or Global Startup School programs.
North American Business Management Post Baccalaureate Diploma (1 year): up to 15 credits for graduates of Tamwood’s Business or Global Startup School programs.
North American Business Management Applied Post Baccalaureate Diploma (2 years): up to 18 credits for graduates of Tamwood’s Business or Global Startup School programs.
Required English Level for Admission to Capilano University
Tamwood students who are transferring to Capilano University may be eligible for an IELTS/TOEFL waiver.
If credit transfer students tested at the following level or higher when applying to Tamwood, they can be conditionally accepted by CapU and do not need to an English admissions exam.
CapU English Requirements:
Students who were admitted to Tamwood with:
- Both a score of 76% or higher on the Tamwood Online Admissions Test and a score equivalent to IELTS 6.0 or higher on the Tamwood Spoken Admission Assessment done by interview; or
- IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 75 (for CapU Diploma or Bachelor admission); or
- IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 83 (for CapU Post-Baccalaureate Diploma admission).

Non-refundable application fee: 135 CAD
Deposit: 5000 CAD
Approximate annual tuition fees: 19,500 – 21,500 CAD.

Application Process
The Tamwood pathway team is ready to support all Tamwood students by providing help with admissions and course registration for FREE.
Tamwood Academic Pathway partners can be booked before or after students arrive in Canada but we recommend applying no later than 3 months before the end of Your Tamwood program so you have enough time for visa processing or other arrangements, and so partner programs are still available. Below are the steps you need to take to complete the application.
- Book and pay for a Tamwood Career Program.
- Submit all required documents to CapU. If applicable, use Tamwood booking as proof of English level (Tamwood Enrollment and English verification letters), and pay the non-refundable application fee for CapU.
- Wait about 1-2 weeks.
- Receive the letter of offer form CapU and pay the deposit within 1 month from the date of issue.
- Receive the Letter of Acceptance from CapU.
- Complete Tamwood Career program. Tamwood’s team will send the original transcripts to CapU.
- Apply for a credit transfer at least 6-7 weeks before the term start date.
- Students will receive proof of their credit transfer from Capilano University.
- Register for courses at least 6 weeks before the term start date.
- The remaining 1st term tuition fees are due 1 week before the term start date.
