An International Co-op Student’s Perspective on Studying and Working in Whistler, Canada
Studying at Tamwood in Whistler was a life-changing experience for me because I could connect with people from countries I never thought I would know. Studying in Canada during a Pandemic – an International Student’s Experience
My experience at Tamwood as student was unforgettable. More than a college, Tamwood is a family and the staff is very approachable and kind. I had the opportunity to meet people from all around the world. Taking classes in this kind of environment allowed me to learn more about culture and how people think with different perspectives depending where they came from while I was improving my English communication skills. It might sound perfect, just like a fairytale, but the truth is that I arrived just right before Covid-19 pandemic started

My experience here at Tamwood has been indescribable. I couldn’t have chosen a better international language school than this. I love the way all the cultures mix, and how we learn about each other, not just among different countries, but also different personalities.
My Best Day in Whistler
Last Sunday was my best day ever in my Whistler adventure. I went skiing on Whistler mountain taking many photos with my camera and then I posted them on Facebook.
Hiking Heaven at Whistler
Hi, I’m Tomo from Japan. I came to Canada in April, lived in Vancouver for four months and moved to Whistler in August to enjoy the summer mountains and skiing in winter. Whistler has a lot of beautiful lakes and mountains. You can enjoy the outdoor activities through the year.
Mountains, Bears & Wonderful Friendships
It is my first day at Tamwood International school. I follow the other students into a living room with big windows and a world map on the wall. I am a little nervous and take a seat on a couch next to an asian boy. “Where are you from?”, he asks me with a friendly smile on his face.
Four Months in Toronto
I have been in Toronto for almost 4 months now. At the beginning, I was a little bit nervous, but quickly I realized that people here are very kind and supportive, which made me feel much more comfortable.
Hiking at Garibaldi Lake & the Chief Squamish
It was kind of hard. Let’s be sincere, I’m certainly not the most sporty girl and maybe a little bit lazy, so If I could probably everybody can and I definitely recommend giving it a try. It’s always good to be nearby the nature.
Toronto’s Campus Feels Like Home
Time is passing so fast and that’s because I’m having a really good time here. Even if Toronto is a huge city in my eyes, I’ve never felt lost. People here are so friendly and helpful. And I’m so happy that I chose Toronto and Tamwood because it’s felt a little bit like home the first day I arrived here.
