Toronto Camps at the University of Toronto, Mississauga

Are you ready for excitement? Toronto is where you’ll find it!

Campers attending the Tamwood Summer Camp at The University of Toronto do a variety of structured, cultural, recreational, social and sightseeing activities each week.

These activities, events and excursions can be grouped into four categories—Day Time (Creative, Sports, Teambuilding, or STEAM), Evening, Excursions, and Optional.

  Campus Features

The University of Toronto Mississauga campus is located approximately 33 km west of Downtown Toronto and set upon the valley of the Credit River across a large, treed lot. It is the second-largest of the three University of Toronto campuses. In 2017 the U of T Mississauga proudly celebrated its 50th anniversary.

A themed campus tour is offered, which encourages to develop teambuilding, leadership, or STEAM skills.

  Student Fitness

Campus recreation facilities include a North and South field for all athletics activities.

  Campus Eats

All meals are served at UTM cafeteria located inside the residence. Residential campers will receive 3 hot meals a day (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner). Meals include 1 main, 2 sides, dessert and a drink (ex. Chicken, fries, salad, cookie and juice). Self-arranged campers will receive only lunch. Lunch box meal and restaurant dinner provided to all campers on full day excursions.

  Accommodations

Each room has 1 bed and comes with wifi, a computer desk, a dresser and closet. A full bathroom is shared between 2 rooms.

Security is provided around the clock by Tamwood live-in staff and campus security. Security key card entry to the building and to the student rooms.

Laundry service is provided once per week (included in the camp fee).

City Attractions

CN Tower

CN Tower

This Toronto sight is hard to miss since its spire dominates the skyline. At 553 metres, the CN Tower is the tallest freestanding structure in the western hemisphere, offering amazing 360° views of its surroundings from the LookOut Level at 346 metres and the impressive SkyPod observation deck at 447 metres. If you want to get your adrenaline pumping, then dare to step on the Glass Floor at 342 metres above ground or even sign up for a walk around the outer edge of the SkyPod – Edgewalk is a full-circle, hands-free test of courage. But brave daredevils will surely enjoy the thrill of standing on the edge!

Toronto Island

The Toronto Islands

A little holiday weekend getaway awaits you just south of Toronto—take the ferry and explore the Toronto islands conveniently located in Lake Ontario. Toronto Island consist of 13 islands in total and even has its own airport. If you enjoy yacht-spotting, then this trip will be worth your while. On a nice summer day, you can relax on the beach, have a picnic in the park, stroll the magnificent gardens or seek thrills at the amusement park on Centre Island.

Niagara Falls

Niagara Falls

A must-do on every East Coast bucket list is a trip to Niagara Falls. A quick day trip takes you to the edge of the falls in just over an hour. Guided tours are also offered from Toronto to Niagara Falls and include stops at the Whirlpool Rapids, Floral Clock and a beautiful little town called Niagara-on-the-Lake. Pack your raincoat and camera, and don’t miss out on a short cruise, which brings you up close to the wall of tumbling water. During this trip, you will surely capture stunning pictures for Instagram & Co.!
