Our Whistler campus is located in the centre of the Whistler village and therefore offers tons of food choices in close walking distance. Make sure to try all the local pubs during your stay in Whistler, such as 21 Steps, The Keg, Earls Kitchen + Bar, Stonesedge Kitchen and Buffalo Bill’s Bar & Grill. If you are on the go, you will also find take-out options nearby like Tim Hortons, Subway and Starbucks.
Whistler is a popular and famous tourist resort and as such the permanent population is quite small as the workforce is mostly seasonal workers who live in shared housing or employer-supplied housing. This means that accommodations with host families are not as available as they are in cities like Vancouver and Toronto. Tamwood cannot guarantee that students will get host family accommodation if they study in Whistler. While Tamwood does have some contracted host families we recommend that students, especially short-term students, view their stay in Whistler as vacation and be prepared to book and pay for accommodations in a hotel, youth hostel, Airbnb rental, or other such vacation properties.

In Whistler only, Tamwood Careers offers students the option to apply for a job and secure an interview and job offer prior to arrival. This way you will know what job you will have, how much you will make, and where you will live before you travel to Whistler. Tamwood has partnered with some of the 5-star hotels in Whistler including the Four Seasons, the Pan Pacific, and the Westin Hotel. These hotels interview our job applicants and make offers for jobs that will be part-time hours for the study term (24 weeks) and then full-time hours for the co-op work term (24 weeks). All of the hotels offer staff housing and students who get jobs at the Four Seasons or the Pan Pacific can stay in their staff housing from the first day they arrive and through their entire program. Learn more here. Contact us if you have questions about applying to Tamwood Careers Whistler.

Whistler Blackcomb resort boasts two high peaks for your snow adventures: Whistler Mountain (2,182 meters) and Blackcomb Mountain (2,284 meters). Thanks to the ideal conditions on Blackcomb’s Horstman Glacier, you can even ski and snowboard during the summer. This makes it one of the best ski resort areas in North America! Other popular pastimes include hiking, snowshoeing, snow tubing, and mountain biking.
Peak 2 Peak Gondola
The Peak 2 Peak Gondola provides an elevated and exciting ride between the two mountains encompassing Whistler Blackcomb resort. Hop on the gondola on a clear day and get wowed by the superb views of snow-capped hills, glistening alpine lakes and the dense forest landscape. In winter, you can also use it as a quick connection between your ski or snowboard runs at Blackcomb and Whistler Mountain.
