Admission Requirements

If you are interested in applying for one of our programs, please see the admission requirements below. We will work together with you to find the course best suitable for your interests and goals. There is something for everyone!

Work + Study

School of Business: International Business & Management

Minimum Age: 18 Years
Education: Toronto applicants must provide a copy of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent* (or have passed the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam with a Cut Score of 16);

A transcript, diploma, or certificate from another country is considered equivalent to an Ontario high school diploma if assessed at an Ontario OSSD level by a recognized assessment service.

Students can have their credential assessed using one of the following pre-approved recognized assessment services:

University of Toronto, School of Continuing Studies, Comparative Education Service
International Credential Assessment Service of Canada

Language Skills: International students must demonstrate intermediate level English with Tamwood Career’s online test and interview. The online test and interview are exempt if CEFR B1, IELTS 5, TOEFL iBT 35, Cambridge PET (Merit), Tamwood Language Centre’s intermediate level or proof of successful completion of Tamwood Language Centre EAP 192 is presented.

For Communication Programs:

Language Skills:  International students must demonstrate Pre-Intermediate level English with Tamwood Careers’ online test and interview. The online test and interview are exempt if IELTS 4, CEFR A2, Cambridge KET (PET), TOEFL iBT 17, Duolingo 55, or Tamwood Language Centre’s Pre-Intermediate level is presented.

Documents: You must have a valid passport and be eligible to enter Canada with a study permit.

School of Technology: Digital Marketing

Minimum Age: 19 Years
Education: Toronto applicants must provide a copy of an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent* (or have passed the Wonderlic Scholastic Level Exam with a Cut Score of 16);

A transcript, diploma, or certificate from another country is considered equivalent to an Ontario high school diploma if assessed at an Ontario OSSD level by a recognized assessment service.

For Communication Programs:

Language Skills: International students must demonstrate Intermediate level English with Tamwood Careers’ online test and interview. The online test and interview are exempt if IELTS 4.5, CEFR B1, Cambridge PET (Merit), TOEFL iBT 31, Duolingo 60, or Tamwood Language Centre’s Intermediate level is presented.

Documents: You must have a valid passport and be eligible to enter Canada with a study permit.

School of Technology: UI, UX, & Web

These requirements are for the following programs:
UI Designer
UX Designer
Web Developer

Minimum Age: 19 Years

School of Hospitality & Tourism: Hospitality & Tourism (Diploma & Certificate)

Minimum Age: 18 Years

Global Startup School

Minimum Age: 19 Years
You have completed: Minimum one academic year post-secondary studies OR 24 months of work experience in any field

To demonstrate you meet the education/work requirements, you must supply either:
• Proof of employment (24 months, full-time)

This proof of employment form must be completed, on company letterhead, and signed in ink by your previous employer(s). Either insert the company logo on this template or print the template on the company letterhead. If you worked at multiple locations to achieve 24 months of work experience, you may complete multiple forms, but they must all be submitted as one PDF document.

OR
• Proof of academic studies

Submit either: transcript for one academic year of study or copy of the official credential you earned at a post-secondary institution (diploma, certificate, or degree) with evidence that the program you completed was at least one academic year in duration.
If your transcript is in a language other than English, please make sure that your name, the name of the institution, and the date is translated to English on the document that you submit.

Junior Summer Camps: English + Activity

Ages: 7-10 Years
English Level: Beginner to Advanced
Documents: Your child must have a valid passport and be eligible to enter Canada/the USA as a tourist.

Youth Summer Camps: English + Activity

Ages: 11-14 Years
English Level: Beginner to Advanced
Documents: Your child must have a valid passport and be eligible to enter Canada/the USA as a tourist.

*Vaccination Status: Every camper has to be fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to entry to New York Camps.

Teen Summer Camps: Global Learner

Ages: 15-17 Years
English Level: Beginner to Advanced
Documents: Your child must have a valid passport and be eligible to enter Canada as a tourist.

*Vaccination Status: Every camper has to be fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to entry to New York Camps.

Youth Summer Camps: Business Project

Ages: 11-14 Years
English Level: Low Intermediate to Advanced
Documents: You must have a valid passport and be eligible to enter Canada/the USA as a tourist.

Teen Summer Camps: Youth Leaders in Training (LIT)

Ages: 15-17 Years
English Level: Low Intermediate to Advanced

Teen Summer Camps: Bright Chef

Ages: 15-17 Years
English Level: Low Intermediate to Advanced
Documents: Your child must have a valid passport and be eligible to enter the USA as a tourist.

Teen Summer Camps: Social Impact Project

Ages: 15-17 Years
English Level: Low Intermediate to Advanced
Documents: Your child must have a valid passport and be eligible to enter Canada as a tourist.

Youth/Teen Summer Camps: Future of Work

Ages: 13-17 Years
English Level: High Intermediate to Advanced
Documents: Your child must have a valid passport and be eligible to enter Canada as a tourist.

Teen Winter Camps: English + Activity

Ages: 12-18 Years
English Level: Beginner to Advanced
Documents: Your child must have a valid passport and be eligible to enter Canada as a tourist.

Family Camps: English + Activity

Ages: Adults – 18+, Kids – 12-18 (Vancouver) & 7-17 (Whistler)
English Level: Beginner to Advanced
Documents: Your child and you will either need a tourist visa, an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), or in some cases only a passport.

Closed Group Study Tours

Ages: 7-17 Years
English Level: Beginner to Advanced
Documents: You must have a valid passport and be eligible to enter Canada as a tourist.

Language Centres

General English

Age: By the time applicants plan to finish their program, they must be at least 19 years old to be eligible for the program.
English Level: Beginner to Advanced (Tamwood Level 2 or Higher)*.
Documents: You must have a valid passport and be eligible to enter Canada as a tourist or as a student.

*Students who need to improve their English skills before getting admitted to any program can take English courses at Tamwood Language Centres.

English for Careers: Private Tuition

Age: By the time applicants plan to finish their program, they must be at least 19 years old to be eligible for the program.
English Level: Beginner to Advanced (Tamwood Level 1 or Higher)*.
Documents: You must have a valid passport and be eligible to enter Canada as a tourist or as a student.

*Students who need to improve their English skills before getting admitted to any program can take English courses at Tamwood Language Centres.

Pathways

ESL Pathway

Age: By the time applicants plan to finish their program, they must be at least 19 years old to be eligible for the program.
English Level: Beginner to Advanced. Students with Beginner – Pre-Intermediate level will start with General English classes to improve their overall level of English. Intermediate level students will start intensive academic English preparation until they complete the required level for entry to their college or university of choice.
Documents: You must have a valid passport and be eligible to enter Canada as a tourist or as a student.

Academic Pathway

Age: Minimum 18 Years (International Business & Management); Minimum 19 Years (Hospitality, Service, & Tourism)
You have completed: Final year of general/secondary level schooling.
English Level: Intermediate to Advanced. Tamwood Pathway Program completion of EAP 192 for Business, and EAP 193 for Hospitality, or a level equivalent to IELTS 5.0 for Business, IELTS 5.5 for Hospitality.
Documents: You must have a valid passport and be eligible to enter Canada as a tourist or as a student. We highly recommend applying for a study permit.
Pathway Requirements: Tamwood Careers Diploma needed for Academic Credit Transfer
