Cross Cultural Communication

Campus: Dream Campus (Ontario), Main Campus (Vancouver)

Description: This course seeks to help students build cross-cultural abilities and develop capabilities to apply their heightened cross-cultural awareness to intercultural situations that occur in the Canadian and international workplace where culture influences communicative behaviour. After looking at various cultural orientations (or Dimensions of National Culture), students will also develop competence when communicating in a direct and low-context fashion, which will be key to their work portion success in the Canadian workplace. For Vancouver and Whistler: this program has been approved by the Private Training Institutions Regulatory Unit (PTIRU) of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills

Admission Requirements – Toronto:

Minimum Age: 18 Years

Language Skills: International students must demonstrate Level 12 English with Tamwood Careers’ online test and interview. The online test and interview are exempt if CEFR B2, Academic IELTS 5, TOEFL 72, Duolingo 95, TOEIC 785,Ā  CELPIP 6, Tamwood Language Centre’s Tamwood Level 12 or ILAC’s Level 12 is presented.

Description: In an increasingly global economy understanding broad trends is equally as important as understanding the operational processes such as export process, international business planning and identifying international opportunities. The course explores the manager’s role within the dynamic global environment of business management by exploring the political, legal, technological, competitive, and cultural factors that shape corporations worldwide.

Emphasis will be placed on the increasingly globalized nature of business including the rise of the internet, the 3rd (and 4th) industrial revolution, accelerated market shifts requiring new processes, strategies and models.

Introduction to Digital Marketing

Campus: Main Campus (Vancouver)

Description: This course lays down the foundation of digital marketing and is the first course of the Applied Diploma and Certificate in Digital Marketing Programs. Students will learn the fundamentals of marketing and explore techniques and tools for discovering and defining the target audience. They will examine concepts that are integral to the field of marketing including marketing environment, customer behavior, marketing research, product analysis, distribution, pricing strategies and promotion. Students will learn the key business and technological elements of digital marketing. They will become familiar with and use a variety of online marketing tools that support the online marketing functions that help drive traffic to a website, improve conversion rates and achieve overall marketing objectives. Students will develop a marketing project and they will work on a series of assignments throughout this course.

Social Media & Community Management

Campus: Main Campus (Vancouver)

Description: This course presents the foundation of Social Media Marketing and Community Management. Students will learn the fundamentals of content creation and management for diverse social media channels by working on a Social Media project. They will become familiar with and use a variety of tools to analyze metrics and social media insights, as well as tools for content curation, creation, and editing. Students will learn how to manage and work in social media teams, becoming familiar with their various roles, such as project manager, curator, designer, copywriter, and data analyst. They will learn valuable strategies to build brand equity and improve social engagement such as audience organic growth and engagement techniques, seeding, influencer marketing, risk management, insight analysis, reporting, planning, and scheduling content.

Strategic Web Design

Description: This course will teach how to create and deliver meaningful online content for the target audiences. Students will learn a basic framework of design thinking and principles marketers need to think about the user’s experience when developing a website. Students will learn how to create and implement a marketing strategy. Students will develop a marketing project and they will work on a series of assignments throughout this course.
